The results of April's survey of architects, conducted on behalf of the RIBA, shows a 5 per cent month on month rise in the number of practices predicting an increase in workload, up from 13 to 18 per cent. The trend seems to particularly favour small and solo practices.
There were also modest improvements in workload predicted across the private housing and commercial sectors, with 12 and 13 per cent respectively expecting an increase in April, compared with 8 and 5 per cent in March. Perhaps reflecting the news highlighted elsewhere in this issue, 7 per cent more practices now expect their workload from the public sector to remain constant – up from 56 per cent in March.
