RIBA ranked among top UK brands
The RIBA is one of the top 200 brands in the UK, according to
the 2009 Business Superbrands survey. To celebrate, we're giving
away a limited number of copies of the beautiful 150-page book
Business Superbrands, published by TCBA.
The list of top 500 UK brands, published annually by The Centre for Brand Analysis, ranked the RIBA 190th, ahead of BSI (British Standards Institute) and ABTA, and blue chip giants such as Castrol and T-Mobile. Judging takes into account the views of an independent panel of experts and over 1,500 business professionals, all of whom are quizzed on their nominated brand's quality, reliability and distinction. Of the thousands initially considered a shortlist of 1,100 names is subjected to even more detailed scrutiny. Only the top 500 of these are deemed to be Business Superbrands.
Overall top place this year went to Google, followed by the Rolls-Royce Group – both household names operating across consumer and business-to-business markets. As a professional body, the RIBA's achievement was considerable, all the more so because it also represented a leap of more than 50 places from its 2008 ranking of 244th. The full 2009 Business Superbrands list will be published in a
supplement to The Sunday Telegraph on 19 July. There is also a
beautifully produced book, Business Superbrands, which provides
more information about each brand, as well as the criteria by
which they are judged. And we're giving away FREE copies.
