FREE Consultancy Days – suggest a topic
Following the huge success of our free consultancy days in London and Manchester this year we're planning more of the same in 2010. But what subjects would you like us to cover?

The topics covered in this year's Consultancy Days were based on feedback received from customers. Following their huge success we're once again inviting you to suggest areas of interest for inclusion in next year's free seminars.
The idea behind the Days themselves was very simple: have a panel of external and RIBA specialists present information of genuine relevance to customers, and then provide the audience with an opportunity to sit down with the expert of their choice for a one-to-one consultancy session. And do it all for free.
This year's panel of experts included architect Andy Jobling of Levitt Bernstein, RIBA's Head of CPD Joni Tyler, and RIBA Enterprises' eCommerce Manager Robert Easson. The subjects covered were CPD, online marketing and understanding specifications.
Subjects of potential interest for future events might include:
- Specification selling tools
- Email marketing
- Importance of branding
- Update on regulations.
No sooner had the date of the first Consultancy Day in London been announced than it quickly became apparent that further events would be required to satisfy demand – particularly among those for whom a lengthy journey south presented practical difficulties. As a result a second date in Manchester was arranged for September. Positive feedback from both indirectly led to the launch of Monthly Briefing's free online advisory service.
All attendees were invited to complete an anonymous questionnaire at the end of each event. Their responses highlighted some interesting regional differences. The online marketing presentation received a higher rating in London than it did in Manchester, while the Manchester crowd were most impressed by the CPD experts. Unsurprisingly however, the one-to-one sessions were the big hit at both events, rated "good" or "very good" by 100 per cent of all those questioned. Between 91 and 92 per cent of respondents considered both days "relevant to my company", while 77 per cent of London visitors and 73 per cent of Manchester's felt that each day had "contributed excellent information and ideas".
