Literature Classification Service

Literature Classification Service

Image of a libraryTechnical literature is a large investment and remains one of the key sources of specification information.

The use of in-house libraries remains a favoured source of technical product information.

It is crucial therefore that your technical literature is filed correctly within these in-house libraries, ensuring that it is readily available and accessible. This is as important as design and content. Having your technical literature correctly classified is essential in achieving this.

The Classification
CI/SfB
  • CI/SfB is the classification system most widely used by architectural specifiers. The system has been in operation for more than 30 years and is the industry standard
  • Uniclass is more commonly associated with organising library materials and structuring product literature and project information. Recommended in BS 1192, it is the UK version of a European classification standard.

We provide a full classification service to manufacturers of building products and incorporate both classification systems described above. Once your literature has been received your classification will be emailed back to you together with a recommended style sheet, indicating where and how the classification information should be displayed. A confirmation will follow by post.
