Relationship building and learning
Relationship marketing looks at the long term value of a customer and involves using methods and tactics to develop a relationship with the customer in order to retain them. CPD is one of the most effective tools for relationship building with specifiers and other construction professionals.
Understanding CPD
Many professionals have a requirement to complete Continuing Professional Development training (CPD) in order to maintain, enhance, and increase their knowledge. All chartered members of the RIBA are obliged to do 35 hours of CPD each year. This is applicable to international members as well.
This CPD requirement provides an opportunity to anyone who would like to build a relationship with architects and specifiers and are specialists in their field.
Being viewed as an educator enables companies to meet architects and construction professionals, and inform them about new technology and products, innovative uses for existing products or any new regulations affecting products. Non-manufacturers like legal or environmental professionals can also adopt this method effectively by using topics from their field of knowledge.
By demonstrating their expertise the CPD Providers are positioning themselves as specialists in their field which in turn inspires confidence from the specifier.
